HB11-1147- This bill is known as the Joint Opportunities for Business Support (JOBS) Act, and is the major bill I am working on this session. The bill will provide support and resources to small businesses, and to entrepreneurs looking to start their own business. Small business is the foundation of Colorado's economy and supporting them will put Coloradans back to work!
HB11-1212- Targeted literally at "Lean Government" and will be an addition to the SMART government act from last year. It will outline for departments the principles of the Toyota Lean management system that private industry has been using to increase their effectiveness and bottom line.
HB11-1191-This bill would create a Utility Data Exchange. This would create a "data warehouse" of aggregated resource usage that could be used by individuals or municipalities like Lakewood and Golden for tracking sustainability and conservation goals. This would make Colorado the first state to provide information that could be used to actually measure the effectiveness of sustainability and greenhouse gas reductions in our communities or our personal efforts.
Bills I Am Working On
Here is a brief summary of the bills that I am working on this session. Click on the bill number to access the full version of the bill.
HB11-1018 - This is my first bill passed out of the House and it is on its way to be heard in the Senate. The bill is a simple change to allow electronically filed documents be verified electronically instead of with a wax or stamp seal. Once it is implemented, people will be able to retrieve official court documents online instead of traveling to the courthouse. This increase in efficiency will save citizens and state agencies time and money.

Killed by the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry and the Economic Development Council because they were unwilling to give up less than 1% of their special tax breaks to fund proven business and job creation programs.

Killed by the utility companies.
HB11-1298- Special license plate for Craig Rehabilitation Hospital. You can purchase this special plate after donating $20.00 to the hospital foundation. This was a difficult bill, believe it or not. It started in the Senate but got killed in the Appropriations Committee in the House. I got a Republican co-prime sponsor and started it all over again in the House. Signed by the Governor
